Improvements for BearCentral But Still Not Enough
We were thinking about BearCentral and why are they struggling with keeping the site up? It seems that
Walt, Scott and Chris has been pretty busy over the weekend, trying their best to keep requesting for donations so that the site could continue to run. After reading through the blogs which other bears had wrote, they seem to have their support on BearCentral and apparently had donated.
We at Bear Talk Woof has been doing some calculations. Now according to BearCentral, there are approximately 28,611 members on the site. If you divide that by 4 you would get 7,152, that's a quarter amount of members on the site. We are not sure how much it takes for a website to run but assuming that it takes about $800.00. But that is just our guess and if that is how much it cost, then it takes 800 members to keep the site up, each member contributing a dollar toward that fund. That is a small amount of members to 28,611 who had donated which is very sad.
This is a tough time in our society. Its understanding that not many bears are not able to donate money, even a dollar. These days in this age people are trying to save a buck. Many people are out of jobs and those who are working are living paycheck by paycheck and they just cannot afford. Maybe some bears cannot afford to be bothered paying up for that extra access and the only thing that is important in the site is in contact with other bears. I am sure that there are bears who are on here are on other sites as well supporting those sites too which is why they can't afford support another site. These are possibilities.
So what do you guys think? Will it be enough for them to keep it up by the end of the week? We'll see. They are really hoping that BearCentral improves.

Bear Central in Jeapardy
Before the weekend started BearCentral posted that the past several weeks they had asked to help support the costs to keep bearcentral running. Some bears were pitching in, unfortunately about 69 members on the site had donated. They were going to closed down BearCentral as of today.
They left a message on the site yesterday to let people know that they have been overwhelmed about the respond during the weekend that apparently they have been hearing people saying that they want BearCentral to keep it alive through blog comments and donations.
All of sudden they seem to be on the brighter side, however would it be enough as donations continue so it is a possibility that things could turn out for the better.
BearCentral is still trying to keep the donations coming in to keep the site from shutting down. They had made a suggestion if you wouldl ike to make "a bigger (or smaller)" donation could do so. It also seem that they also thought about someone who is interested in investing or buying BearCentral and to let them know. It just seems that Chris, Walt and Scott are really struggling with the website looking for donations.
Bear Talk Woof's concern is that if these fellow bears are struggling with BearCentral with donations, and all that would lead them to buying BearCentral, would it make any difference if someone else buys the website? Wouldn't the site still be struggling even if it was bought by someone else? Would that make a difference? What do you think?
